Our basic concerns and ideas

FROmobility

Priority for foot, bike and public transport (in German language Fuss, Rad, Oeffi, abbreviated FROmobility), also called ecomobility in technical jargon.

Since the end of the 1970s, with "Umweltverbund" there has been a German word for the combination of the city- and environmentally friendly modes of transport walking, cycling and public transport as an alternative to private cars. The corresponding English term "Ecomobility" was then introduced internationally in the year 2007. But who is familiar with these words in everyday language? In Germany, nobody at the breakfast table will say "You can take the car today because I use the Umweltverbund. We are therefore talking about FROmobility and believe that it sounds a lot happier.

And when we say "bike" we mean more than just the bike. We mean hundreds of different types of vehicles and mobility aids in the range "between shoe and car".

We create concepts from ideas, and we implement concepts in projects.

To our projects

Disarmament in urban transport: mobility "between shoe and car"

Battleship, tanks, dinosaurs - this is how the ever larger cars (SUV) that are penetrated our urban space are perceived. The call for disarmament in urban transport is getting louder.

We have been dealing with means of movement (vehicles and mobility aids) of human scale for years. We record types of mobility devices in the range "between shoe and car", and our database now has over 700 records.

4D in urban transport

With regard to individual vehicles in urban transport, we promote the 4D principles.

Downsizing to human scale

Match vehicle size with human dimensions

Deceleration to urban speed

Vehicle design for speed of 80 km/h max.

Decarbonization to zero carbon

CO2 free, climate-neutral drives

Decrease in number to match urban capacity

Reduce the number of vehicles by vehicle and ride sharing
